Our Story

Hi, I’m Kyla, the founder and creator of The Cotton Lane. Growing up in North Vancouver, my childhood was filled with creativity and a deep appreciation for the little things in life.

As a kid, I fell in love with crafting. I grew up in a cozy home with my family, where our imaginations ran wild, fueled by a love for creating and making memories. My mom was incredibly resourceful, always finding ways to make what we had feel special. She taught me to sew, patch up old clothes, and turn scraps of fabric into something beautiful. It was in these moments that I realized how much joy could come from creating something with my own two hands.

I learned to cherish what I had and find beauty in simplicity. My mom’s philosophy of "make it meaningful" stuck with me. Whether it was reusing fabric to create a new dress or spending time crafting homemade gifts, everything we did carried intention and love. She taught me the importance of creating with care and building traditions that mattered. These values are at the heart of The Cotton Lane.

Today, I create products designed to help families slow down, savor the little moments, and build memories that last. From our thoughtfully embroidered Advent Calendars to our soft and snuggly CuddleBooks, every item is crafted with love and care, inspired by my own childhood and the joy I found in the simple things.
